The Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) has shown that the industry underreported its antibiotic use by at least 40 percent.  The UCS calculated 24.6 million pounds of antibiotics were fed to chickens, pigs, and other farmed animals, only counting nontherapeutic uses.  They further calculated that fully 13.5 million pounds of those antimicrobials would currently be illegal within the EU.

As you know, I’m all about shoes.  Following on the heels of my Massive Fall Boot Guide (get it, “heels”? LMAO!), I took on the mission of publishing my own cruelty-free version of the Lucky Magazine‘s Fall Shoe Guide.

Back in March, I took their spring shoe guide, tracked down leather-free alternatives of all the mentioned styles, and compiled them into one handy group of posts over the course of a week.  It featured platform mary janes, slingback heels, pointy-toe flats, two-strap flat sandals, cork-soled platforms, and two-tone oxfords.

And we made it! So today is the next to last day of my cruelty-free alternatives to the Lucky Seasonal Shoe Guide section of this month’s magazine. Week 2 of Lucky Magazine Shoe Week continues with Menswear Flats.
