Experience Vegan Couture For Yourself!

Well, if you’ve read this blog for awhile, you know how much I LOVE Vaute Couture and their line of vegan, fair-trade and eco-conscious coats and tee’s (including a men’s line).  I own a lovely royal blue pea coat from Vaute so I can attest to the quality and style of the garments.  Come to Spork Foods in WeHo on Monday from 6 to 8 pm and check out the collection for yourself (plus have a Spork cupcake…or two or three…) and meet designer Leanne Mai-ly Hilgart.  If you can’t make it on Monday, stop by the HSUS offices from 4 to 9 pm (by appointment only).  See you there!

REPOST: Thanks Coco Eco!

How cool is this?  Coco Eco Magazine , the digital guide to living glamorous and green, has given me a special code for a free subscription for Veggywood readers!  For a full year, you’ll get access to the website and 6 issues of the magazine, that you can print out or view online.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO OBLIGATION to buy anything.  This is not some kind of advertising, I’m not getting paid, trust me, I used the code too!

It’s a great publication with articles ranging from organic “Editor’s Picks” to high fashion spreads with beautiful photography, and interviews with celebrities like Alicia Silverstone.  It’s basically the Vogue of the eco-chic set!

The special Veggywood code expires JUNE 30TH so use it quick – and pass it on to whomever you like!

Spork Foods Kitchen Launch Party

I had a great time on Friday at the grand opening for the new Spork Foods space in West Hollywood.  Definitely saw a lot of familiar faces and got to hang with my fav vegan blogger buddy QG (her photos of the party are WAY better than mine probably because I was too busy stuffing my face)!  Chef Jenny Goldberg and her sister/business partner Heather looked beautiful, and the appetizers/drinks of course were amazing. Rory Freedman of Skinny Bitch fame was also in attendance, and in fact hosted the party.

It got packed and hot, thankfully there were some amazing beverages including a white wine sangria and some kind of blueberry cocktail that was out of this world. I hope Spork adds a cocktail class into the schedule, that’s for sure.  There were a bunch of savory dips and nibbles, but obviously, I went straight for the sweets, including tiny vanilla spiced cupcakes with chocolate frosting, and melt-in-your-mouth truffles that were insanely good.  Seriously, I MUST attend that chocolate making class and learn those secrets.  The possibilities of being able to make my own truffles are endless.  And frightening.

Anyway, the new space is AWESOME and decorated totally cute with a little sitting area, chandelier, and of course, a GIANT new kitchen!  For those of us who have taken Spork classes from the tiny kitchen of Jenny’s old apartment, this is quite a change.  I can’t wait to take my first class there!

If you haven’t attended a Spork Foods cooking class, check out their schedule HERE
